The product tour
The first time you sign in, Velosiq runs a short guided tour. It dims the screen, highlights one part of the app at a time, and explains what it does — walking you from a blank account to the point where you can send your first invoice.
The tour moves through the app as it goes, so you are always looking at the real screen rather than a picture of one.
Getting through it
Each step has three controls:
- Next moves forward. Back returns to the previous step.
- Skip tour closes it immediately.
- The row of dots shows how far along you are — click any dot to jump straight to that step.
You can also use the keyboard: → or Enter for the next step, ← to go back, and Esc to skip out entirely.
Skipping is not a penalty. The tour never blocks anything, and everything it shows you is covered in more depth elsewhere in this help center.
What it covers
The order is deliberate — it follows the shortest path from a new account to a professional-looking invoice, then tours the rest.
Set up your business first
- Logos — your square avatar logo for the app, and the wide header logo that sits at the top of every invoice and proposal.
- Business details — name, address, phone and email. These print on every document you send.
- Contractor license — if your trade requires a license number, it is printed on invoices and proposals exactly as you enter it. Leave it blank if it does not apply to you.
Then your clients
- Add a client — everyone you invoice lives here.
- Import — bring an existing client list in from a spreadsheet instead of retyping it.
- Statuses and search — filter by lead, active or inactive.
Then invoicing
- Your totals — invoiced, paid, outstanding and overdue across the top of the page.
- Status filters — draft, sent, paid and overdue.
- New Invoice — where invoices are created.
- Choosing a client — the tour opens the invoice builder for you and points out the client dropdown, so you can see the real form before you fill one in.
Then a quick look at everything else — your dashboard, and whichever of Projects, Proposals, Products, Expenses, Assets and Analytics your plan includes.
Why your tour may be shorter than someone else's
The tour only shows features your plan actually includes. On the Free plan it skips Projects, Proposals, Products and Expenses, because those sections are not in your sidebar to point at. The step count adjusts to match — you will not see gaps or steps about things you cannot use.
If a section sounds useful and your tour skipped it, see Choosing your plan.
Replaying it later
The tour runs once. After you finish or skip it, it will not appear again — including when you sign in on a different computer or phone.
To watch it again at any time:
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Choose Product tour.
Replaying does not reset anything. It is just a second viewing, and you can skip out of it the same way.
Everyone gets their own
The tour is tied to each person, not to the business. If you invite a team member, they get their own run the first time they sign in, whether or not you have already finished yours.
On a phone
The tour works the same on a phone. Cards dock to the bottom of the screen instead of sitting beside what they are describing, and it opens the navigation menu itself when a step needs it.
Where to go next
The tour is an orientation, not a manual. When you are ready for detail:
- Quick-start checklist: from signup to first invoice — the same path, as a checklist you can work through at your own pace
- Set up your business profile and logos
- Add and manage clients and Import clients from a spreadsheet
- Create an invoice and Send an invoice
- Navigating Velosiq — the sidebar, search, and notifications in more depth
